Check the full mix
Start with the stereo export because that is what your listener gets. Jump to a dense chorus or drop. Shimmer and smeared reverb often disappear in a sparse verse, then pile up as soon as the arrangement gets busy.
Keep the loop at a moderate level. Any bright track becomes tiring when it is loud enough, and that can tempt you into oversized cuts. Turn it down and check whether the strange texture still stands apart from the music.
